I was commissioned by Hyundai to photograph the men and women on the assembly line who turn a flat sheet of steel into cars. The idea was to introduce plant workers to customers as fellow Americans who build Hyundais in America. It was a thrill observing and documenting these talented workers dance around the automation around them, completing their tasks to the chorus of machine squeals and screeches. Photographing in a state of riveted curiosity is my happy place.
