On assignment for Pfizer, I spent three days with Jill Cohen at her home in Seattle, Washington. Jill was celebrating her second bat mitzvah - 13 years of living with metastatic breast cancer.
I began this project with the thought I'd be an observer, someone outside the window looking in through my camera. Moments after meeting Jill I realized she had other plans. She welcomed me as an old friend, sharing her moments of joy and strength. In our short time together I learned much from Jill, her perspective on the gift of life and what it means to keep loving no matter what is something I won't forget.
